Splendid India Art Exhibit during Boston Design Week + Wanderlust Wonders Panel at BDC Spring Market

Dane Austin Design is thrilled to announce the upcoming art exhibit, "Splendid India: A Journey Through Design," inspired by a transformative trip to northern India led by award-winning designer Vani Sayeed. The exhibit will showcase a captivating collection of art and photography created by participants of the Splendid India trip, as well as esteemed interior designers, architects, and design industry professionals from across the United States. The art exhibit will be on the third floor event space at the BDC during Boston Design Week, April 23-May 5, 2024.

On May 1st, as part of the Spring Market festivities at the Boston Design Center, a panel discussion will take place at 11 AM with prominent designers Dane Austin, Jill Litner Kaplan, Alisha Serras, Niki Serras, and Vani Sayeed, who will lead a stimulating conversation about their experiences during the Splendid India trip, the design inspirations they garnered from their travels, and the artistic creations showcased in the exhibit.

The inaugural Splendid India trip showcased iconic destinations such as the Taj Mahal and the vibrant festivities of Holi in Udaipur. Participants had the opportunity to witness majestic tigers on safari in Ranthambore, explore the intricate craftsmanship of a paper factory in Jaipur, and delve into the rich history of temples and forts across the region. These awe-inspiring experiences, coupled with encounters with local artisans, have profoundly influenced the artwork featured in the exhibit.

The Wanderlust Wonders panel discussion, scheduled for 11 AM on May 1st, 2024, in Room 332, will offer attendees a deeper insight into the creative process behind the exhibit and the enduring impact of travel on design. The art exhibit will provide attendees with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of India.
