COMPANY & MISSION
Dane Austin Design, founded in 2009, is an award-winning, full-service interior design firm headquartered in Boston, specializing in luxury residential interiors throughout New England.
Our team is driven by our core values of compassion, generosity, and trust. From complete home overhauls to single room renovations, all of our projects are driven by the relationships we build with our clients. Our passion and purpose are to enhance the lives of our clients by helping to realize the greatest potential of your home. We believe in the natural design intuition of our clients, and we collaborate to create environments that reflect your individual personality and lifestyle.
Dane has completed sophisticated, polished, and comfortable interiors in many of Boston’s “It” buildings — including Millennium, One Charles, The Four Seasons, and 22 Liberty — as well as luxury suburban properties, sprawling Cape Cod estates, and stately townhouses in Boston, Cambridge, and Washington, DC's most prominent neighborhoods.
Dane partners with luxury residential realtors, architects, and homeowners to save time and resources by helping to navigate through the hundreds of decisions involved with remodeling a home or designing a new one.
He has worked with Fortune 500 executives, tech industry leaders, CEOs, financial experts, attorneys, athletes, entrepreneurs, producers, pharmaceutical reps, and other prominent professionals, often when they are relocating to the greater Boston or Washington, DC metro areas.
Dane Austin Design has gained considerable acclaim from magazine editors and influencers for one-of-a-kind interiors, exceptional customer service, and extraordinary custom furniture designs. His work has appeared in numerous design publications nationwide.
Clients are drawn to Dane’s keen eye for color and an inherent sense of style. He approaches each project through a modern lens, creating compelling spaces that marry traditional and contemporary design. Ultimately, at the heart of every project is the belief that the best décor expresses personality and place; the resulting environments are joyful, inviting, and above all, livable.
Dane’s design process, what he calls the Rise & Thrive Experience, is a highly organized and customer-driven plan that delivers custom solutions for full-service, turnkey projects.
“It is so important that our clients know they are in good hands,” says Dane. “We want to you enjoy the journey and the process as much as the final outcome.” As much as he is precise, Dane is also known for his warm, friendly demeanor and quickly earns his clients' trust. He has frequently worked on multiple homes for the same clients – some of whom he has served for more than a decade – and much of his work comes from referrals.
Clients benefit from Dane's long-standing relationships with the region’s leading architects, custom home builders, fabricators, craftsmen, fine furniture makers, and other industry specialists.
Dane is frequently invited to speak and guest lecture on industry panels, and also mentors design students throughout Massachusetts. He is a past board member of the American Society of Interior Designers, the nation’s largest and longest-established organization of design professionals. After attending college at the Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at George Washington University and studying decorative art in London and Paris, Dane graduated with two fine arts degrees.
Early in his career, Dane worked in fashion before he began specializing in luxury interior design. In 2017, he was nominated by his peers for the New England Home Magazine’s 5 Under 40 award, and in 2015 he received the Excellence in Design award from the American Society of Interior Designers.
Dane lives in Boston with his husband, Joshua, and their dogs. The couple plans to adopt children in the future.
